[MR Damper]
TF started to produce a semi-active MR(Magnetorheological) Damper that provides performance at a different level in terms of ride comfort and driving safety, targeting high-end luxury vehicles and celebrity-tuned cars, launched in February 2024 for Kia Carnival through KC Motors. This is the first application in Korea for tuning passenger car market.

MR Damper is utilizing magnetorheological fluid with very small magnetic particles dispersed in a solvent such as oil. Normally, the ferromagnetic particles are dispersed irregularly, but when an external magnetic field is applied, they align in a regular pattern." It is adjusting the damping force by utilizing changes in the fluid's viscosity characteristics according to the intensity of the external magnetic field. (In contrast, conventional variable dampers adjust the damping force by changing the cross-sectional area of the orifice through which the oil passes.

Main properties of MR Dampers are;
 - Wide range of damping forces which enables to maintain optimal vehicle behavior in various driving conditons.
 - Rapid response time (approximately 30ms) → Improve comfort and driving stability
 - Low power consumption 
 - Wide operating temperature range
 - Less sensitive to contamination

MR Damper System consists of Controller, Sensors & Cables, Dampers and Wiring Harness.
