STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 is an eco-friendly deicer made with predatory starfish, a marine bio-waste. Our technology is the result and hard work of scientists and developers from Seoul National University. Our eco-friendly product outperforms competitors and other materials used in removing snow, ice or frost from a surface. STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 offers the best comprehensive solution of competitive deicers that reduces significant infrastructure and personal property damage to concrete, metal and and plant necrosis while providing outstanding deicing performance.

Reuse of starfish, a marine bio-waste
We make use of starfish, in the most efficient way: STAR’s Tech develops an eco-friendly deicer utilizing starfish, a marine predator that causes multiple environmental problems.		 Outstanding snow melting performance
Our STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 product is up to 166% more effective when compared with sodium chlorides solutions for snow melting performance while providing a level of maintenance up to 3 times greater than calcium chlorides.		 ZERO corrosion
Our STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 boasts a major reduction in corrosion rate, close to 0%, at 0.8% corrosion, far exceeding the standard 30% corrosion rate required for an eco-friendly deicer.
Solidification solved! Optimally designed for long-term storage
With bead-shaped particles covered with a special coating, our product has solved the problem of solidification to enable a prolonged storage while being dust-free.		 Perfect-Eco
Our deicer with starfish extracts minimizes the damage to roadside trees and vegetation caused by chloride ions and reduces corrosion to infrastructure and personal property.

The graphs represent test results based on a level of sodium chloride set at 100%. Other eco-friendly deicers from Company A and B respectively have an effect at 104% and 113% when sodium chloride is set as 100%. In comparison, STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 shows a snow melting performance equivalent to 166% of sodium chloride.		 Corrosion comparison data
The graphs represent test results based on a level of sodium chloride set at 100%. Other eco-friendly deicers from Company A and B respectively have an effect of 27% and 24% when sodium chloride is set as 100%. In comparison, STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 shows a corrosion inhibit rate close to 0%, at 0.8%.

Performance of bead-shaped particles covered with special coating
Unlike other flake-type deicers, STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 is a “ bead-type product with the special coating.” It is dust-free and easy to use. We also solved the problem of solidification, enabling long-term storage, which is a known issue for conventional flake-type deicers.		 Damage on concrete comparison data
The graph represent test results based on a level of sodium chloride set as 100%. STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1 shows a concrete destruction rate at 24%, which is half the standard rate required for environmental cover certification (50%).


Methods of analysis
Methods of analysis are taken from the 'EL610' standard(Environmental Product Declaration of Korean GovernmentDe-icing Product) and from the STAR's TECH.

This test demonstrates the effects of plants sprayed with different deicers. The results indicate that STAR’s Tech ECO-ST1’s impact on plants is harmless in comparison to the application of sodium chloride with one-fifth concentration.

Snow melting performance Medium The test is based on ‒3℃ and ‒7℃ as sodium chloride, and ‒12℃ and ‒15℃ as a mixture of sodium chloride (70%) and calcium chloride (30%) and the test duration is set to be 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes, applied individually


How to store
1. Keep the product indoor, avoiding direct contact with light.
2. Use the product as soon as possible once the package is opened.
3. Seal the product thoroughly for prolonged use after the first use.
